Jeremy Là Zelle’s areas of filmmaking expertise have taken him into some of the wildest and most challenging off-the-beaten-path destinations on Earth. Jeremy writes, produces, and directs entertainment of all styles and formats that often times are located in exotic places such as the Arctic Circle, swamps of Mississippi, deep inside the Appalachian Mountains, or within the Himalayas. Jeremy thrives on assembling small yet highly productive filmmaking teams to go where no other team dares.
Jeremy has written, produced, and directed for Networks such as National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, History Channel, INSP, Bravo, and truTV. He’s known for spearheading initial show concepts to the next level by writing entire seasons, directing story in the field, and overseeing all post production operations.
As President of Backpacker Films Jeremy specializes in creating, developing, and showrunning all aspects of production and story, and most importantly, he assembles the right filmmakers to venture and film inside the world’s most extreme locations. Some of his credits include producing/directing for National Geographic Channel’s King of the Mountain & Filthy Riches, Discovery Channel’s Alaska Gold Diggers, and History Channel’s Museum Men.
Recently Jeremy returned from leading a highly-skilled team of filmmakers into the unknowns of the Kingdom of Bhutan. Despite being a closed-off nation, the monarchy specially hired Backpacker Films to be among the first western production companies ever to document and highlight the entire nation’s incredible natural resources and film their coveted race called “The Tour of Dragon” ~ The world’s most challenging one day mountain biking competition.
